Google Wave Interface FAIL
Monday, November 30th, 2009
I had the opportunity to see a non-technical friend’s first reaction to Google Wave today.

I can’t help but laugh.
Also, If you’d like to experience this mess of an interface for yourself, please contact me.

I hate to be That Guy, but I believe the expression is “case in point.”

Otherwise, I hear ya. My explanation to my moderately-technical brother of the virtues of Wave wound up sounding tortured even to my ear.
I had a very similar reaction to Wave.
Google Wave is over hyped, I never get how this thing is going to replace Email.

Same here. I've tryed to find a use and shared some invitations with both technicals and not technicals friends, and well, Wave is a mess. The Wave protocol itself is interesting, but I'm not really a fan of the interface. Not a mail, not a chat, not a wiki, not a shared doc but a bit of all and good at nothing…
Sooo… what is the point? Yes, many non-technical persons don't understand what wave is for, because they are not aware neither of the problems with todays solutions, nor the opportunities of tighter communicative integration.
And? What does that have to do with the interface (which admittedly needs improvement)?
The interface deeply confused her. The intentions of the application weren't obvious.
